Goh Family
First day of Year 2009, as requested by Meredith, we went to the Singapore Botanical Garden to feed fishes and tortoises at the pond. My mother-in-law and Vincent’s family to join us too.
On our way to the pond, we saw the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, Mdm Ho walking out from the Botanical Gardens. We smiled at them and my brother-in-law, Vincent asked if he was able to take a photo with PM Lee and he agreed.
Ai ya, we should have taken a family photo with PM Lee since Vincent has already done so. “Blur blur”, guess we were also too excited as it was our first time seeing PM Lee.
This is the photo that I have taken for Vincent with Mr and Mrs Lee:

We had an early birthday dinner yesterday for my mum-in-law’s birthday. This year, instead of celebrating at Tung Lok group or Ritz Carlton’s Summer Pavilion, my MIL chose Prima Revolving Restaurant. She had her dinner there more than 20 years ago with my father-in-law.
The kids enjoy the panoramic view of the sea whereas my MIL felt “giddy”.
Meredith tried pepper for the first time with the shredded scallops with fish and egg white. Her comments was nice but too salty.
Overall, the food was a disappointment, Eugene gave a rating of 4 out of 10.

It has been more than 10 years since my mother-in-law make dumpling.
As requested by Vincent (for his beloved wife, Tracy), my MIL has agreed to do it this year. Tracy likes dumpling with duck yolk and Eugene too.
Darling, I ordered two dumplings with double duck yolk specially for you, enjoy when you are back in Singapore on Monday!
Hee, I was supposed to help out but ended up sitting there talking to my mother-in-law as I can’t handle the dumpling.
MIL at work …

Sogo and family were back from Shanghai on 1 Feb for their CNY holidays. It has been more than half a year since we get to meet again.
The Goh Family has decided to book a room each at Rasa Sentosa from 2 – 4 Feb 08. Thanks to Eugene for exchanging his Thai Airways mileage for the room vouchers. The kids enjoyed themselves so were the adults. As Eugene is a Golden Circle Gold member, we were upgraded to a suite and Meredith got a welcome gift, a frog named “Toots” from the Director of Rooms who came to welcome Eugene.

We had an early “Loi Hei” and reunion dinner on 2 Feb at Ritz-Carlton’s Summer Pavilion, our favourite venue. Thanks to Managing Director of Jovin Automotive Pte Ltd for the dinner. The kids joined in the “Loi Hei” and shouted “HUAT Ya” … Meredith said it was fun, from there, she learned how to hold and use chopsticks.
Sogo and his family went back to Shanghai on 16 Feb 08 after spending 2 weeks in Singapore.
Meredith, Renee, Melissa & Javen managed to spend time playing and quarrelling together again. Guess, it must be very enjoyable for Renee since she is alone in Shanghai.
As for Sean, Leroy & Nigel, they were happy as well. Especially, Joel was able to join us on CNY’s Eve and 1st Day of CNY.
When I told Meredith that Renee was going back to Shanghai that day, she told me she loves Renee and want to send her at the airport. We guessed it could be both their zodiac sign is monkey that made them very close.
When it was time to say goodbye at the departure gate, Meredith gave Renee a goodbye hug and Renee was so sad and kept saying “I wanted Meredith”. Guess, this made Janet’s eyes turned red…
Well, they will be back again in July for their summer holidays, will see them again soon.

This year, Joel was able to join us for CNY. We took this opportunity to take a family photo with him.
Meredith in CNY clothes. She insisted that I buy this outfit for her as her teacher said, CNY must wear CNY clothes. Well, must admit that she has grown up.
The Goh Family is considering having December holiday in Tokyo & Osaka. Knowing that I cannot eat Japanese food, Vincent suggested that we should start eating it every weekend so I can get used to it.
I am allergy to Japanese food since I was in secondary school. Cannot take raw food, sushi, eel, udon & also miso soup. Will either have diarrhoea or vomit.
Today, we went to Kuryia at Shaw Centre, 5th floor. I ordered a katsudon set meal & a chawamushi followed by a scoop of macha ice-cream. Ordered a udon with seaweed for Meredith as she has a little cough.
Meredith is just like me, don’t know how to appreciate Japanese food, seem like she almost vomitted after finishing the bowl of udon. Her expression was so funny that Eugene & my mum-in-law cannot stopped laughing ;>)
For me, guess what happened! Vomitted the macha ice-cream instead of the food, good try right?
Thanks Vincent for the dinner!
Have not been working for the month of July as I need to cover my mum-in-law’s duty as CEO of childcare centre at Kim Keat Ave.
There are 4 toddlers (aged 33 months, 30 months & 27 months) & 3 kids (9 yrs old and 7 yrs old).
Send Meredith to school from Mon – Thu, 9.30 am – 11.30 am. During these 2 hours, I will have breakfast with Aimee, Kim, Georgia & Helen (Meredith’s classmate mummies). Do marketing either at Thomson Plaza NTUC or Shop & Save.
Proceed straight to Kim Keat Ave to take over Tracy who is on morning shift.
1) feed the toddlers lunch together with the help of 3 domestic helpers
2) watch hi5, pingu, barney or other TV programmes
3) shower for Meredith
4) nap time for the kids at around 1 plus
I shall then have some free time to surf the net or watch my Korean series. Decide what to cook for dinner and the domestic helpers will prepare the ingredients.
Sean and Leroy are back at 2.15 pm.
1) have their lunch
2) shower
3) do homework (felt embarrassed when Sean asked me to help with his math problem, I have a hard time explaining the working steps) OMB! I must attend Kumon with them.
4) play computer games
At 4.30 pm, watch Taiwanese show casted on channel 8 “Yi Nan Wang”. Start cooking at 5.30 pm. We have a big family, the dinner is for 9 adults & 7 kids. Eugene is impressed of me, I am someone who does cooking less than 6 times a YEAR. However, I can cook out things which my mum-in-law has been cooking. Sometimes, I will call my mum-in-law to check the recipes. Most importantly, my nephews love my cooking too.
It is really not easy taking care of 7 kids, their shouting, screaming, crying, snatching of toys are getting on my nerves. I have to use cane or chilli sauce to settle them down.
Also, can you image bringing 4 toddlers & 3 domestic helpers to Shop & Save? I surrender!
Ma, I salute you!
